Who we are
About
Virtual Production Portugal (VPPt) was created to connect people in Portugal who are already working with, experimenting with, or wishing to start working with virtual production (VP) in a practical and collaborative way. VP is still taking shape in Portugal, and that's an advantage: building bridges from the outset, establishing a common language, sharing knowledge, and ensuring that each team doesn't have to 'reinvent the wheel'.
One ecosystem, one workflow
Our idea is simple: to foster a national ecosystem where creatives and technicians come together in the same space — directing and production, cinematography, art, visual effects (VFX), Unreal/real-time, tracking, lighting, DIT/colour, sound, and post-production. Because VP is not an isolated tool: it is a workflow. And when the workflow is shared, projects move forward more quickly, with less friction and less waste.
Focus on execution
At VPPt, the focus is on execution. We prefer real-world analysis to generic presentations: what went well, what went wrong, what compromises were made, what team was required, how long it took, and which decisions made the difference. Here, the aim isn't to impress — it's to learn together and raise the quality of work done in Portugal.

Direct channels: quick questions, sharing of references, opportunities, team calls, and connections between people who need each other to finalise a plan.
Where we want to go
Our ambition is that, over time, VPPt becomes the place where:

- You'll help create a VP culture in Portugal that is serious, open, and sustainable
